Sport, activities and sporting events in Frankfurt am Main
Throughout the year Frankfurt am Main is the venue for high quality domestic and international sporting events.
And Frankfurt has a lot to offer for all those who enjoy participating in sport themselves too.
Here is a quick overview of both sides of Frankfurt's sporting coin:
Sport for spectators: Sporting events
Football: Eintracht Frankfurt
The Commerzbank Arena is home to Eintracht Frankfurt. The team plays in Germany's first division.
If you want to support your team in a game against Eintracht Frankfurt, then we recommend our fans' football offer. If you travel with your team scarf, then there's a €5 discount on our offer price.
Getting there: the stadium is 7 km from the hotel, just one stop by tram or 10 minutes by car.
Basketball: Deutsche Bank Skyliners
Frankfurt's basketball team, the Deutsche Bank Skyliners, who play in Germany's national league, are based in the Ballsporthalle here in Frankfurt. With its towering stands, the Ballsporthalle is a great stadium for a great game.
Getting there: The best way is by car. The journey takes about 20 minutes.
Ice hockey: Frankfurt Lions
There's plenty of hot entertainment on the ice at Frankfurt's Eissporthalle ice rink. The Frankfurt Lions play in the German Ice Hockey league (DEL). The ice rink is also the venue for popular "ice discos".
Getting there: The best way is by car. The journey takes about 20 minutes.
