According to air traffic forecasts by Fraport AG, the number of passengers will increase to around 88 million per year by 2020 and the number of flight movements to 700,000 per year. The airport is being expanded in order to meet the challenges of these increased traffic volumes. Important projects include modernising the existing Terminals 1 and 2, and building a new Terminal 3, a new runway and a new A380 hangar. The retail and service areas are also being continually upgraded. The Airport City continues to grow!
We have devoted a separate page to the construction of the airport's third terminal. Find out more here >>
